Rioter rifle is the bestseller of Arkhangai Anda, a Mongolian firearm manufacturer. It is created by a young weapon designer called Batu, originated from Soviet-era Assault Rifle Project. It is a simple and low-cost weapon, which can easily go into mass production and application. Chambered in a 7.62mm intermediate cartridge, Rioter rifle has a high rate of fire (RoF), which makes it extremely suitable for medium and close-range gunfights.
This rifle is very popular among gangsters, giving it the name "Rioter". Its original codename has long been forgotten, even Arkhangai Anda registered "Rioter" as a trademark. It has become impossible to tell the exact number of its countless modified versions and variants on the market.
Due to its heavy recoil force and lightweight structure, firing a Rioter is not an easy task. Only experienced shooter who knows how to handle it can fire it with favorable accuracy. However, replicae Hanssen and robot Kotetsu do not need any practice as they have implemented programs, allowing them to quickly master firearms.
The Spartans are order upholders and that is why they named their first standard assault rifle "Guardian". Guardian rifle was designed by a group of external experts according to military demands, combining the advantages of US and European military rifles, created as a multi-purpose weapon. Small-caliber cartridge is used to reduce recoil force in automatic firing mode. Guardian rifle has a stable performance, but its cost is relatively high. It is designed with ergonomics and versatile. Anyone can quickly master the firearm regardless of strong men or petite women.
Besides the Spartans, police forces and other mercenary groups have also purchased large quantities of Guardian rifles. Gangs and the Resistance also acquired a lot via capturing or black-market trades, while upgrading and remodeling them according to their own needs. In Matr1x, almost everyone is trained to fight with a Guardian rifle.
The "Commando" assault rifle is a standard weapon designed by another team of employed experts for the Spartan Legion. The original design was taken from the special task weapons program of a European firearm factory. That's how its name came about. In the bidding, the Commando lost to the Guardian due to its lower reliability and rate of fire, and was not selected to be equipped with mercenary units under the Legion, and was eliminated.
The Commando assault rifle shares the same type of small-caliber rifle cartridges as the Guardian and had the highest accuracy of any assault rifle, comparable to that of a sniper rifle. But top management at the Spartan Legion saw little practical value in that. Due to the barrel’s tendency to overheat, the design team was forced to lower the rate of fire, which was the direct reason that the Commando lost the bid. In fact, the Commando is no less capable than the Guardian.
To recoup their losses, the team sold the Commando's design to Andean Condor, which liked the gun's modular design and paid extra to develop barrels and magazines for ammunition of other calibers. Today, Commandos in various appearances and schemes have become the Andean Condor's best-selling assault rifle. Compared to standard-issue weapons like the Guardian, gangs and resistance find it easier to acquire Commandos, which are less suitable for 3D printing but are still plentiful.
The Calf is named after its unique structure with bolt and magazine positioned towards the rear(Bullpup firearm), effectively reducing recoil and shorten the length of the gun. The seemingly futuristic design was actually an unfinished project that the Arkhangai Anda's engineers had discovered from piles of old East Asian weapon blueprints. Intrigued by its unique shape, they decided to complete the design in their spare time and improve it with weapon technology of the Cyber Age.
When the Thoule Etna printer came out, the engineers bought their own printers and printed out Calves for extra money, so gangs became the first users. During use, gang members found that the gun was perfect for waist-height firing during a charge, and did a pretty good job of killing. However, it was tricky to change the magazine, empty casings were often thrown in their faces, and the noise was too loud. Due to unstable printing quality, there was also an incident where a barrel exploded due to being too close to the shooter's face, blowing off half of his head After the accident, gangs reported engineers for selling weapons to the three Andas, and they were penalized. Since then, the Calf disappeared from the market, because almost no one dared to use them.
The Matr1x Alliance, in urgent need of weapons, scoured and collected all the Calves discarded by other organizations. For Kotetsu, it doesn't matter if a bullet case is thrown in his face or blown up because he has an iron head. However, the White Crow keeps her distance. She does not want her pretty face burned by the hot shell. Amanita is trying to fix the calf's flaws and recreate the blueprint. She is also thinking of selling it to Andrea as a new product after reworking the external details.
