Faun Group

The largest global biotech company after Monsanto; named after the god of harvest in Germanic mythology. The company is headquartered on the soil of some traditional agricultural country in Eastern Europe. Ostensibly harmless to humans and animals, the company's main business is high-tech agriculture, constantly breeding a variety of high-yield crops, livestock, flowers, pets, etc., which once saved global agriculture on the verge of collapse due to climate change. Dave, the owner, has always presented himself as a simple farmer, and a nature-lover. He is always doing research in his fields, corrals, and greenhouses. He is also obsessed with charity and has a great public image. He is hailed as the "God of the Grains" by the naive underclass, but his farms around the world do alleviate unemployment. The Faun Group and Dave seem peaceful on the outside, but deep down, they both hide their darkest plans. Dave is actually a biotech supremacist who, like Oswin, has a long-standing ambition to conquer the universe. He also believes that humans, and indeed all earthly creatures, are too flawed to conquer anything. They are just inferior creatures. However, unlike Oswin, Dave plans to acquire the genes of extraterrestrial beings, to create a group of mutant beings to rule the Earth and step into the universe. And ultimately eradicate other extraterrestrial life and colonization, which is his "Ceres"plan. He reckons whether human beings, plants, and animals, or Oswin, who has appointed himself as "The One", there is only one way out in the future: to serve as feed and fertilizer for mutant creatures. Of course, he is not included in this list. Thus, he has also launched a biochemical warrior research program in an attempt to transform himself and the Uranus into immortal "supermen". Meanwhile, he is also providing a steady stream of "tool guys" to gangs, technology companies, and mercenary groups to generate profits.
Dave has contempt for Oswin and the Thoule group. He privately calls them a "pocket full of pig fodder", but Thoule's space, prosthetic, brain-computer, and other technologies are the necessary springboard for him to enter the universe. Faun's biotechnology is also lacking in Thoule. So, behind the collaboration between Faun and Thoule, there is hidden but fierce competition.
